One of the best benefits to parent / home directed education is, you as the parent get to choose how, when, where, and who educates your child. As the parent, and the first educator, you have the power in the formation of your child. In Texas, we benefit from a state that supports homeschool, and encourages parents to make decisions for their family and children. As a nation, we have a great homeschool organization that fights for our rights as parents, and we would encourage you to learn more about the HSLDA & THSC.

Another benefit to homeschooling in the Brazos Valley is the great community support. Within the homeschool community in this area, there is a great sense of pride and comradery between homeschool families. We support each other and want to see each student and family be as successful as possible.
Last, we often say that homeschool organizations are a blast from the past. If you attend the National Homeschool basketball tournament in Springfield, MO, what you will see is something from the days of old. A community of people that promote respect, strong Christian values, and students that say, “Yes sir and Yes ma’am”. Like it or not, we're bringing Mayberry back.
