Our team typically meets for 1.25-1.5 hours for practices three times a week at a track in town in the evenings. (Email [email protected] for location address)
2023 Season Practice schedule:
M, T, Th @ 5:00PM in College Station, beginning Jan. 24.
("Satellite practices" available in Caldwell @ 4:00PM on M, W, F, for those who live closer to that area - these practices led by Coach Maleigh Canon)
Athletes must attend 3 team practices/week.
We practice until we run out of daylight. Later on in the season, when daylight is plentiful, we are usually wrapped up by 6:30 or 6:45PM.
NOTE: Although we limit official team practices to 3 days/week as listed above, distance athletes (those training for 800m or longer, & possibly a few other athletes) will be required to run (or bike) on 1-3 additional days/week, on their own, as recommended by their coach(es), for a total of 4-6 days of training each week. If you know from the onset that you cannot or will not give this type of commitment, we ask that you not join Aggieland Track & Field. We are a competitive running team (not a PE class or running club) and athletes should be coachable & willing to give their best & train/race with a winning mindset.
NOTE about weather: Typically, if there's a light rain/drizzle we continue to hold practice. If there is heavy rain OR thunderstorms, we cancel. Last minute cancellations and other announcements will be made thru the Remind text.
What to bring to the first practice:
